Changing perceptions of the local pharmacy
When many people picture a pharmacy they think of people in white coats handing out prescriptions.
But since we're been given the ability to provide clinical services and counter prescribe treatment, today's pharmacy now offers a wide range of accessible healthcare services.
In our new consultation rooms people can speak to us in private and receive advice and support on a variety of common ailments, such as hay fever, giving up smoking and checking their blood pressure. With computer access to people's prescription history, we can provide people with ongoing support and quality personalised care.
I know that, just as I am, every pharmacist is excited about the evolution of the profession which is enabling us to make full use of our pharmaceutical expertise. With a pharmacy on nearly every high street, we're looking forward to becoming an accessible and more valued part of healthcare in the local community.
