Do you know your painkillers?
According to a study carried out by Nuromol, a non-prescription painkiller, there's still a lot of confusion over what painkillers we should take and when.
When asked, almost half the people who took part in the survey said they didn't seek their pharmacists' advice on which painkiller to take and how to take them. As a result, four out of five said the painkiller they took didn't give them enough pain relief.
Of even more concern was the finding that nearly half of those participating in the survey admitted they mixed medicines without seeking the advice of a doctor or pharmacist. Almost one in four also did not know the difference between the painkillers paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine.
Next time you're buying painkillers – or any other type of over-the-counter medicine – ask your pharmacist to recommend.
