Travel health checklist

Before you go, be prepared by packing the following:

  • Malaria tablets (if applicable) - Check out Ask Your Dr for this service
  • Painkillers, diarrhoea tablets, oral rehydration sachets, insect bite cream and travel sickness pill
  • Plasters, support bandages (in case of sprains or strains), antiseptic liquid/cream. tweezers and scissors
  • Insect spray/mosquito repellent
  • Water sterilisation tablets
  • Sunblock cream and after-sun/calamine lotion
  • Prescription medicines (include an extra supply in case any get lost)
  • Your usual contraception (again, include an extra supply)
  • Travel insurance and proof of health insurance (if you're holidaying in Europe, apply for a European Health Insurance Card at www.ehic.org.uk)
  • Vaccination card/record (if applicable).
