My poor son Harry always seems to be suffering from one thing or another, like hay fever, head lice or eczema. I'm always buying new creams and ointments for him. Normally this means time off school and bus trips to see the doctors, but turns out I can get help at the pharmacy.
The other day I saw a poster about the pharmacy's minor ailment services. It said you didn't need an appointment and could just pop in for some free advice. So I went in on the way home and they said I could get free medication for Harry as he is under 16.
I took him in one day after school and the pharmacist took us into one of those private booths that have started cropping up. He had a look at the eczema on my son's hands before giving us some creams for the red soreness and said to pop in if we needed help with head lice, acne spots or any allergies Harry picks up.
Being able to get free health advice and treatment from the pharmacy is a godsend. No more having to go all the way to the doctors and worries about spending all that money on all the creams Harry needs. I'll be heading back to the pharmacy's minor ailments service when his hay fever kicks in.
