Migraine sufferers are missing out on normal life

According to the charity Migraine Action, this serious neurological condition affects one in seven people and is more prevalent than diabetes, epilepsy and asthma combined. But the charity's latest survey – launched recently to coincide with Migraine Awareness Week – shows how severely migraine is affecting their lives.
Is bowel embarrassment putting you at risk?
According to the Department of Health, bowel cancer is England's third most common cancer, with around 34,000 new cases diagnosed each year. As with most types of cancer, the earlier bowel cancer is caught, the easier it is to treat. But when it comes to our bowel habits, it seems that many people are just too embarrassed to talk about problems that could well be a sign of cancer.
Cigarette smoke kills one baby a day
One baby dies in the UK every day as a result of mothers smoking during pregnancy. That's the shocking statistic from a new report aimed at government health ministers published by the Smoking in Pregnancy Challenge Group. The group is made up of a coalition of baby charities, campaigners and health experts, including The Lullaby Trust, the Royal College of Midwives, Tommy's the baby charity, the UK Centre for Tobacco Control Studies and Action on Smoking and Health (ASH).
